Integrated waste management role across various sites
- Full-time 3 year fixed term contract with possibility of extension
- Salary in the range of $95,000 – $100,000, negotiable depending on experience

In this busy and fast-paced role you will be responsible for coordinating the City’s integrated waste management operations, which includes waste collection, resource recovery and waste disposal, ensuring service levels are met and costs are managed. In addition, you will assist in the development and delivery of sustainable, high quality initiatives through the use of innovation and best practice.
In order to be considered for this role, applicants must be able to demonstrate the following competencies:
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline; i.e. waste management, environmental management, engineering, transport/logistics, business and/or substantial leadership experience of multi-faceted business operations, ideally related to waste management.
- Highly developed project and contract management skills with the proven ability to influence and drive continuous improvement.
- Confident and capable abilities in human resource management; daily management and development of a diverse range of staff, performance management, conflict resolution.
- Strong, practical knowledge of the legislative framework relating to WHS, waste and the environment.
- The proven ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders from internal team members to executive and the community.
- Strong presentation and report writing skills.
- Highly developed analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills, along with meticulous budgeting and financial management skills within critical timeframes.
Applicants with previous local government waste management experience will be highly regarded.
Applicants must also have a current “C” class driver’s licence, construction safety awareness certificate (white card) and be able to provide a police clearance no more than 6 months old.
