The challenge
Project proposal optimization air-warm hot water registers drying chambers (kilns)
In the Energy Transition Plan it is determined that energy efficiency improvements can be implemented for several kilns. This can be achieved partly by improved loading of the kiln (Dutch: eest) , partly - and most importantly - by increasing hot water consumption instead of steam consumption. To achieve this, the hot water heat registers are expected to have to be enlarged and modified. On the second page you will find some more information (Project proposal optimal hot water hex kilns).
What will you do?
- You will make an analysis of the current situation of all four kilns;
- You determine the maximum potential to consume hot water;
- You determine the design of the required hot water registers for the relevant kilns;
- You propose the optimal loading of the kilns.

Who are you?
- You have knowledge and interest in malt and beer production;
- You have knowledge of thermodynamics (WO/HBO);
- You are familiar with and/or work with drawing packages such as for example Autocad, Inventor, Revit (Autodesk);
- Last but not least: you want to be part of the energy transition, and make a difference!
